Welcome to Pently (“we,” “our,” or “us”). Pently is a mobile application that helps you manage your shopping lists and pantry inventory. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.

Pently is designed to operate entirely on your device. All data you create (shopping lists, product inventories, product photos, notes, and preferences) is stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to this information, and it is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

The following information is stored only on your device:

• Shopping list items and quantities
• Product inventory data
• Product photos you take or select
• Product notes and details (descriptions, prices, ratings, expiry dates)
• App preferences and settings
• Category names and colors

This data is stored using secure local storage on your device and is never accessed by us or sent to external servers.

3. Network Access

Pently uses network access for the following purposes only:

• Framework Requirements: The app framework (Expo) requires network permissions for standard functionality
• Specials Feature: The app may fetch publicly available store specials and pricing information from external sources. This data is displayed to you but is not stored or associated with your personal information
• No User Data Transmission: We do not transmit any personal information, shopping lists, or product data over the network

4. Permissions

Pently requests the following permissions and why:

• INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required by the app framework for standard functionality and to fetch store specials information
• CAMERA: To take photos of products you add to your inventory
• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To select and save product photos from your device
• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION: For location-based features (if enabled) to show nearby store specials. Location data is not stored or transmitted

You can deny any of these permissions, but some app features may not function properly.

5. Third-Party Services

Pently does not use any analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party data collection services. We do not share your data with any third parties because we do not collect or access your data.

6. Data Security

All your data is stored securely on your device using encrypted local storage. Since we do not collect or transmit your data, there is no risk of data breaches from our servers.

7. Your Rights

Since all data is stored on your device:

• You have complete control over your data
• You can delete the app at any time to remove all data
• You can clear app data through your device settings
• We do not have access to your data, so there is no data to request, modify, or delete from us

8. Children’s Privacy

Pently is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children because we do not collect information from anyone.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
